OUR MUSIC LESSONS PROCESS
Step 1: Select which kind of music lessons you are looking for, and click one of the “book now” buttons.
Step 2: You will be redirected to a squareup.com scheduling page, where you will be able to choose your music lessons type (voice/piano) and length (30-minutes/45-minutes). You will also be able to choose whether you would prefer a virtual or in-person music lesson. All students must begin by registering for a trial lesson.
Step 3: You will be able to choose your teacher, or check availability for all staff members offering the service you’re interested in. Select the day and time you would like to have your music lessons.
Step 4: You will be prompted to enter some basic information in order to reserve your music lessons: your name, email and phone number. Once you have entered this information squareup.com will create a customer account for you. You will be able to log on at any time using your mobile number or email address.
Step 5: Reserve your appointment – It will be confirmed by our administrator within 48 hours. Please note: your credit card will NOT be charged until your appointment is confirmed.
Step 6: You will receive an email from our administrator within 48 hours confirming your appointment. If you have selected a virtual music lesson, a zoom link for your lesson will also be sent to you at this time, so make sure to save your confirmation email!
Step 7: If you decide you would like to continue music lessons, please contact our administrator: administrator@cantabileschool.com. You will be sent an invoice for the number of lessons you would like to purchase, as well as a student contract to sign. Lessons will NOT take place until all fees are paid and the student contract is returned to the administrator. Please note: every new student is charged a one-time registration fee, which defrays the cost to Cantabile School for utilizing online payment platforms.
MUSIC LESSONS FAQ
We offer both options! Whether you choose to meet online or in-person, you can feel confident that the quality of music lessons instruction will remain the same.
YES! Online music lessons offer a multitude of benefits, without compromising the quality of instruction. Here are just a few:
- Safety – The pandemic isn’t over yet, and many people still don’t feel safe in populated environments. Virtual lessons allow you to study music safely from anywhere.
- Convenience – Enjoy increased flexibility in scheduling, and access to a wider range of available teachers. Online learning also means that you are completely in control of your learning environment. That increased control can often leave students feeling more confident and focused, which leads to faster and more productive learning.
- It Saves Time – No one likes driving through heavy traffic or running late because of train delays. Virtual learning means you can skip the commute altogether. Adults can budget their time more efficiently, and young people can more easily balance multiple extra-curricular activities.
- Longevity – Students who take online music lessons end up taking lessons more consistently, and typically stay with their lessons 10% longer than local students because online music lessons are easy and convenient. Students can continue to study even when a parent/sibling is sick, when there is inclement weather, or during vacations.
Cantabile School requests that all students begin with a trial lesson for one simple reason – we want you to feel confident that we are the right place for you! A trial lesson gives you the opportunity to see if a certain teacher is a good fit, and that you feel comfortable with our style of teaching.
If you have any questions at all, or would like help finding an appointment time that works for you, always feel free to reach out to us via email: administrator@cantabileschool.com or fill out the form on the “contact us” page.
- Check your internet connection prior to your lesson. You may want to connect your device via ethernet cable if your WiFi isn’t reliable.
- External microphones can greatly enhance your clarity on a Zoom call. Consider investing in an external mic to get even more out of your lesson. There are some wonderful options for less than $50 online.
- Check your audio settings: make sure “automatically adjust microphone volume” is not checked. You can also check that “enable original sound” is turned on.
- For voice lessons – make sure your instructor can view you clearly from the hips up.
- For piano lessons – consider two cameras, one for your hands, and one for a side view of your body.
Students must give 24-hours’ notice to qualify for a makeup lesson. Lessons cancelled with less than 24-hours of notice will not be rescheduled or refunded. This applies to trial lessons and makeup lessons as well. For a full explanation of our lessons and cancellation policies, please click here.
